09 September 2019, Beaumont, Canada – ELA, or the Electric Autonomous shuttle (using the EasyMile EZ10 autonomous shuttle), has added the vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) technology in its third phase of the pilot program that enables the shuttle to interact wirelessly with traffic lights, lane markings and signs. The ELA has been operating since May in Beaumont along a one kilometre route.

ELA is the first time an autonomous vehicle has been fully integrated with traffic, pedestrians and traffic infrastructure in western Canada.
