On-demand / taxi mode

On demand / Taxi mode

In on-demand or “taxi” mode, autonomous towing supports flexible material transport across large industrial sites. Unlike fixed-loop operations, the EZTow is dispatched dynamically to perform specific missions as needed, connecting multiple stations and flows across a broad map. This mode is well-suited for storage movements, staging transfers, and general yard logistics, where transport needs vary throughout the day.

Auto-hooking enables decoupling of loading and unloading from the towing operation, allowing trailers to be staged independently and improving system responsiveness. The environment may include outdoor routing, gate interactions, and railway crossings, requiring robust localization and safety capabilities.

Suitable for:

  • Dynamic material flows across large or complex facility layouts.
  • Multi-origin, multi-destination transport with variable routing.
  • Low-to-moderate intensity operations such as staging, storage movements, or non-continuous line feeding.
  • Environments requiring interaction with gates, crossings, and mixed traffic.
  • Scenarios benefiting from on-demand deployment and trailer auto-hooking.
