Transporter operations
Transporter operations
Autonomous dolly towing supports cargo handling operations around freighter aircraft during loading and unloading. In this use case, the vehicle moves between one to three adjacent aircraft stands, coordinating with motorized transporters and ground crew. Operations require fast cycle times and precise navigation, as dollies must be accurately positioned to support time-sensitive cargo flows around the aircraft.
This is among the most technically complex apron scenarios for automation, with limited space, active service traffic, and strict safety constraints. Autonomous dolly movement can enhance consistency, reduce manual intervention, and maintain alignment with tightly scheduled freighter operations, particularly during nighttime or off-peak shifts.
Suitable for:
- Short-distance movement between multiple aircraft stands during cargo loading/unloading.
- High-frequency cycles with strict timing and minimal tolerance for delay.
- Environments with high aircraft proximity and limited maneuvering space.
- Apron zones requiring precise vehicle coordination with motorized transporters and ground crews.
